Mossy Spruce Lodging is a quick 5-7 minute drive (about 3 miles) to the harbor, shops, and restaurants. We are located in a peaceful, wooded neighborhood outside city limits. The log cabin is newly finished. The cabin sleeps 4 with 2 twin beds in the open loft bedroom and 1 queen bed in the downstairs bedroom. The spiral staircase is the gateway to the loft. Please use caution when ascending and descending the stairs (not suitable for guests who have trouble navigating stairs).

The space

The cabin features a full bathroom, a washer and dryer, and brand new appliances.

Guest access

Guests have access to a bbq grill and parking.

Additional notes

FOR YOUR COMFORT: We provide WiFi, clean linens, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, a hair dryer as well as coffee pods, tea, cream and sugar. We offer Disney plus and Netflix streaming to our guests.

*Please note, although we have blackout curtains throughout the space the two high triangle windows do not. There is a little bit of light that comes through for loft sleepers.

*We also have a yard light that turns on at dusk and turns off at dawn. It does not have a switch. We have lots of bears and moose in our area and the light is for safety.

Guest interaction

Lar and I, along with our 4 small children (Tell 10, Hazel 8, Flint 6, & Iris 3) live on the property next door. During the 3 busy summer months (June, July, and August), we offer our main home to guests so if you have a large group feel free to rent all three units if needed. We stay in a camper located between the two properties on site and enjoy the sounds of nature in our cozy space.

If you have any questions about Alaska or anything else Lar and I are more than happy to answer them. We were both born and raised in Alaska so we know our way around. Lar grew up doing taxidermy with his dad and is an avid fly fisherman and hunter. He was also a hunting guide for several years so he has a whole plethora of knowledge when it comes to wildlife! We both enjoy the great outdoors. During the summer months we try to explore our beautiful surroundings as much as possible! We hope you enjoy our little slice of paradise!

House Rules

NO SMOKING INSIDE THE CABIN or ON THE PORCH.

No Pets

No additional people other than those specified in the reservation. If more than 4 guests are brought and prior arrangements have not been made an extra guest fee will be charged ($50 per extra person per night).

Quiet hours are from 10pm-7am. Please be respectful our neighbors.

Please no processing of fish on property. We have lots of bears in our neighborhood!

Please use BBQ grill provided to cook fish.

No parties or events.

Please leave the cabin in a tidy manner (load dishwasher and gather trash). Thanks in advance!!!

Please do not wash towels with other laundry.

Please do not wash bedding with other laundry.

Please do not strip beds or start the washing machine. I like to inspect all bedding/towels in case something needs special

Please do not tamper with smoke alarms.
