Mossy Spruce Lodging is a quick 5-7 minute drive (about 3 miles) to the harbor, shops, and restaurants. We are located in a peaceful, wooded neighborhood outside city limits. Our property boasts magnificent mountain views, and the cabin is brand new. There are 2 bedrooms (1 queen bed and 2 twin beds) and 1 full bathroom. *WIFI not available September 30th - March*

The space

Our cottage was built in winter of 2016/2017! The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances and solid surface counter tops. The overall feel of the space is modern with some quirky and fun finishing touches.

Guest access

A 5-7 minute (about 3 miles) drive from the cabin will take you into Seward where all the action is. However, if you'd rather relax on the deck and sip a cup of warm coffee that's alright with us! We also offer guests access to our fire pit where making s'mores (marshmallow chocolate graham cracker goodness) is highly encouraged! Guests can grab a bundle of firewood at Safeway ($5-$7) as firewood is not provided. Guests also have access to a BBQ grill.

Additional notes

FOR YOUR COMFORT: We provide WiFi, clean linens, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, a hair dryer as well as coffee, tea, cream and sugar. We do not have access to cable tv in our neighborhood. We do offer Netflix streaming. A DVD player is also provided for guests who want to bring their own movies, or rent one locally at Safeway.

We rent out our main home during the 3 busy summer months (June-August). Please be courteous to other guests and use caution when entering and exiting the driveway.

Cancellation Policy
Full refund for cancellations up to 30 days before check-in. If booked fewer than 30 days before check-in, full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before check-in. After that, 50% refund up to 7 days before check-in. No refund after that."

Guest interaction

Lar and I, along with our 4 small children (Tell 7, Hazel 5, Flint 3, and Iris 5 months) live on site in the main home (September-May).

The cabin is next door to our main home. During the 3 busy summer months (June, July, and August), we offer our main home to guests as well. We stay in a camper on site and enjoy the sounds of nature in our cozy space.

If you have any questions about Alaska or anything else Lar and I are more than happy to answer them. We were both born and raised in Alaska so we know our way around. Lar grew up doing taxidermy with his dad and is an avid fly fisherman and hunter. He was also a hunting guide for several years so he has a whole plethora of knowledge when it comes to wildlife! We both enjoy the great outdoors. During the summer months we try to explore our beautiful surroundings as much as possible! We hope you enjoy our little slice of paradise!

Getting around

Guests will need a vehicle to get to and from town. There is no public transportation.

House Rules

NO SMOKING INSIDE THE CABIN/HOUSE or ON THE PORCH. If it is found out that guests smoked INSIDE the cabin/house the full security deposit will be taken and not refunded.

No Pets

No additional people other than those specified in the reservation.

No visitors without permission.

No children left unattended in the yard or cabin/house.

Quiet hours are from 10pm-7am. Please be respectful of other guests and our neighbors.

Please no processing of fish inside the cabin/home.

Please use BBQ grill provided to cook fish.

No parties or events.

Please leave the cabin/home in a tidy manner (load dishwasher and gather trash). Thanks in advance!!!

Please do not wash towels with other laundry.

Please do not wash bedding with other laundry.

**Please do not strip beds or start the washing machine. I like to inspect all bedding/towels in case something needs special attention.

Please make sure no smelly trash is left inside the cabin/house.

Please do not tamper with smoke alarms.
