Mossy Spruce Lodging is a quick 5-7 minute drive (about 3 miles) to the harbor, shops, and restaurants. We are located in a peaceful, wooded neighborhood outside city limits. Our property boasts magnificent mountain views. There are 2 bedrooms (1 queen bed and 2 twin beds) and 1 full bathroom.

The space

Our cottage was built in winter of 2016/2017! The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances and solid surface counter tops. The overall feel of the space is modern with some quirky and fun finishing touches.

Guest access

A 5-7 minute (about 3 miles) drive from the cottage will take you into Seward where all the action is. Guests have access to a BBQ grill.

Additional notes

FOR YOUR COMFORT: We provide WiFi, clean linens, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, a hair dryer as well as coffee, tea, cream and sugar. We offer Disney plus, Netflix, and Fubo TV streaming to our guests.

We rent out our main home during the 3 busy summer months (June-August). Please be courteous to other guests and use caution when entering and exiting the driveway.

Guest interaction

Lar and I, along with our 4 small children (Tell 7, Hazel 5, Flint 3, & Iris 4 months) live on site in the main house (September-May).

The cottage is next door to our main home. During the 3 busy summer months (June, July, and August), we offer our main home to guests as well. We stay in a camper on site and enjoy the sounds of nature in our cozy space.

If you have any questions about Alaska or anything else Lar and I are more than happy to answer them. We were both born and raised in Alaska so we know our way around. Lar grew up doing taxidermy with his dad and is an avid fly fisherman and hunter. He was also a hunting guide for several years so he has a whole plethora of knowledge when it comes to wildlife! We both enjoy the great outdoors. During the summer months we try to explore our beautiful surroundings as much as possible! We hope you enjoy our little slice of paradise!

Getting around

Guests will need a vehicle to get to and from town. There is no public transportation.

House Rules

NO SMOKING INSIDE THE COTTAGE/HOUSE or ON THE PORCH.

No Pets

*No additional people other than those specified in the reservation. If an extra guest arrives and prior arrangements have not been made an extra $50 fee per night per extra guest will be charged.*

No children left unattended.

Quiet hours are from 10pm-7am. Please be respectful of other guests and our neighbors.

Please no processing of fish on property.

Please use BBQ grill provided to cook fish.

No parties or events.

Please leave the cottage/home in a tidy manner (load dishwasher and gather trash). Thanks in advance!!!

Please do not wash towels with other laundry.

Please do not wash bedding with other laundry.

Please do not strip beds or start the washing machine. I like to inspect all bedding/towels in case something needs special attention.

Please do not tamper with smoke alarms.
