Welcome! This is our main home (September-May) on the property. We have a cabin located next door that is also used for guests during the summer months. The overall feel of our home is warm, inviting, and open. The spiral staircase is the focal point of the living space and is the gateway to the loft!

There are two bedrooms on the main level (1 queen bed, 2 twin beds), and 1 full bathroom. The loft has 1 queen bed and a 3/4 bathroom (tile shower). The square footage of the house is 950.

The space

Lar and I, along with our 4 small children (Tell 7, Hazel 5, Flint 3, & Iris 4 months) live on site in the main house (September-May).

The cottage is next door to our main home. During the 3 busy summer months (June, July, and August), we offer our main home to guests as well. We stay in a camper on site and enjoy the sounds of nature in our cozy space.

The spiral staircase is one of my favorite parts about our home. The stairs are a beautiful one of a kind feature, however, the spiral staircase is not suitable for small children to climb or people who have difficulty navigating stairs. There are two bedrooms on the main level and a queen bed in the loft area. *Please use caution when ascending or descending from the loft.

Guest access

A 5-7 minute (about 3 miles) drive from the house will take you into Seward where all the action is. However, if you'd rather relax on the deck and sip a cup of warm coffee that's alright with us! Guests also have access to a BBQ grill.

Additional notes

FOR YOUR COMFORT: We provide WiFi, clean linens, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, a hair dryer as well as coffee, tea, cream and sugar. We offer Disney plus, Netflix and Fubo TV streaming. A DVD player is also provided for guests who want to bring their own movies, or rent one locally at Safeway.

We rent out our cabin which is next door to the main home. Please be courteous to other guests and use caution when entering and exiting the driveway.

Cancellation Policy
Full refund for cancellations up to 30 days before check-in. If booked fewer than 30 days before check-in, full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before check-in. After that, 50% refund up to 7 days before check-in. No refund after that."

Guest interaction

If you have any questions about Alaska or anything else Lar and I are more than happy to answer them. We were both born and raised in Alaska so we know our way around. Lar grew up doing taxidermy with his dad and is an avid fly fisherman and hunter. He was also a hunting guide for several years so he has a whole plethora of knowledge when it comes to wildlife! We both enjoy the great outdoors. During the summer months we try to explore our beautiful surroundings as much as possible! We hope you enjoy our little slice of paradise!

Getting around

There is no public transportation in Seward. Guests will need a vehicle to get to and from town.

House Rules

NO SMOKING INSIDE THE COTTAGE/HOUSE or ON THE PORCH. If it is found out that guests smoked INSIDE the cottage/house the full security deposit will be taken and not refunded.

No Pets

No additional people other than those specified in the reservation.

No visitors without permission.

No children left unattended in the yard or cottage/house.

Quiet hours are from 10pm-7am. Please be respectful of other guests and our neighbors.

Please no processing of fish inside the cabin/home.

Please use BBQ grill provided to cook fish.

No parties or events.

Please leave the cabin/home in a tidy manner (load dishwasher and gather trash). Thanks in advance!!!

Please do not wash towels with other laundry.

Please do not wash bedding with other laundry.

**Please do not strip beds or start the washing machine. I like to inspect all bedding/towels in case something needs special attention.

Please make sure no smelly trash is left inside the cabin/house.

Please do not tamper with smoke alarms.
